Dude Takes Podcast
Since Middle School the three of us have been friends, we played basketball together, we visited each other all throughout college, and we all in each others weddings. We love each other, we love arguing and debating sports (and anything else) and we thought it would be a great idea to ensure we never stop arguing by creating a podcast. Tristan Rankin (Hickory, North Carolina)
Sophomore defensive back Tristan Rankin appeared in 10 games for the Lions during the 2021 season. He recorded 40 tackles and picked off eight passes, returning two for touchdowns. His stellar season saw Rankin be named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Freshman of the Year, an All-SAC First Team selection, D2CCA All-Region First Team selection, second team AP All-American, and D2CCA First Team All-American.
Dexter Fitzpatrick (LaGrange, Georgia)
Junior linebacker Dexter Fitzpatrick played 10 games in the 2021 season, posting 74 tackles to finish second on the team. Fitzpatrick was named to the All-South Atlantic Conference First Team and was a D2CCA All-Region Second Team selection. In 2019, Fitzpatrick’s freshman season, he was named the SAC Defensive Freshman of the Year and a Cliff Harris Award nominee, an award presented to the nation’s top small college defensive player.
Landon Honeycutt (Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina)
Junior linebacker Landon Honeycutt led the Lions and the South Atlantic Conference with 105 tackles in the 2021 season. He started all 11 games and added four sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one interception. He garnered an All-SAC First Team selection and D2CCA All-Region First Team honor. Honeycutt has played in 25 games in his MHU career, totaling 173 tackles.

Jimmy Urzua (Suwanee, Georgia)
Senior quarterback Jimmy Urzua has appeared in 30 games during his career, starting 25 games. He posted career highs with 2,618 yards and 24 touchdowns in the 2021 season, helping lead the Lions to their first South Atlantic Conference Championship game in 10 years. He’s thrown for over 5,800 yards and 50 touchdowns during that span. Urzua consistently finds himself among the top three in the SAC in yards, yards per game, touchdowns, and pass efficiency.
Ty Snelson (Hot Springs, North Carolina)
Senior tight end Ty Snelson set career highs in receptions (32), yards (545), yards per game (49.5), and touchdowns (9) in the 2021 season. He ranked first among South Atlantic Conference tight ends in all of the aforementioned categories. He was named an All-SAC First Team Selection, D2CCA All-Region First Team selection, and both D2CCA and AP Second Team All-American. During his Mars Hill career, Snelson has appeared in 33 games, totaling 1,045 yards and 14 touchdowns.
